Hey everyone! Lorde is an 'it' girl of today, with her edgy music and even edgier style. Netted tops clumpy shoes and chokers all add up to make an interesting look: very punky and yet Lorde still looks feminine. Although her clothes are critiqued often, personally I love her whole look, every time I see her I think I become one step closer to buying a black lipstick! What do you think of Lorde's style?

Hey everyone! I decided to change by blog up a bit, I hope you like it! I have pretty bad taste in music, so you can imagine my excitement when my friend invited me to go and see Taylor Swift last Monday. It was an amazing night, filled with a lot of awful singing on my part: needless to say I don't think the people sat next to me could actually hear much of Taylor swift. It also helped that the Vamps were supporting (swoon) even if Connor fell off the stage halfway through. Here are some photos of the best bits.
Hey everyone! The fashion world is going into overdrive at the moment, I thought I'd join the buzz by sharing some of my favourites from SS14 shows.

Antipodium's collection definitely caught my eye, its just the right mixture between cheeky and sophisticated. The dress on the left is so unusual, yet relatable : little mermaid, meets punk, meets schoolgirl- love it!

Sister by sibling made its mark with netting, netting and more netting. Skirts, tops all of the partially see through variety. The skirt above makes you sit up and pay attention, the sort of ' I wouldn't wear it but love to look at it' piece!

House of Holland's dreamy collection is full of beautiful prints and beautiful fabrics. The baseball cap adds an urban feel and contrasts gorgeously with the feminine dress.

What do you think?

Hey everyone! So, on Tuesday I went to London with my Dad and my sister. We decided to travel using Boris bikes, and go to Borough market. After this we went to Leicester square and got tickets for a musical that night. Once we got to Leicester square we were greeted by a mass of barriers and angry looking policemen saying 'you cant stop here'. Scary security, screaming girls: could only mean one thing... One Direction. The 'This is us' premiere definitely caused some hype, seeing Harry Styles face on a massive screen brightened my day anyway! I still cant believe I was just metres away from an indecent amount of Simon Cowells chest hair! Last week me and my family went out to celebrate my sisters results: here is a photo of us: I'm wearing my favourite jewellery, a vintage leather watch and blue oblong ring from Topshop. What do you think?
Hey everyone! I suppose the saying 'all good things must come to an end' doesn't exclude British weather. For the past few days dark skies have overcome the pleasant weeks of sunshine and warmth. But what else can you expect from a good all British summer? So, a few months ago while watching made in Chelsea, I spotted the perfect winter coat. I searched online for it but couldn't find out what brand it was. Then last week I stumbled across it, you can imagine my excitement! However the excitement quickly evaporated when I realised that these coats were sold out everywhere! I'm eagerly awaiting more coming into stock. If this doesn't happen I'll be trawling through ebay for a look alike! Here is a photo of the coat (Bellfield padded jacket in lollipop red) worn by Phoebe lettice: Love it!
Hey everyone! I absolutely love the new kimono trend and after looking all over for one that I really liked I found this gorgeous one from Topshop.

What I love about kimonos is their effortless versatility, by choosing one in a darker colour or mixing it up with clumpy boots they can go from pretty to grunge! What do you think?
Hey everyone! I cannot believe it's been over a year since I started my blog! Its been quite a stressful year for me what with school which equals exams which equals endless studying! I also entered into the world of work a few months ago, the phrase 'like a lamb to the slaughter' comes to mind when I think of my first day, needless to say I quit that job and am in the process of finding another one. Its the holidays again, I'm currently a week in and loving the long lie ins and lazy afternoons reading Jilly Cooper in the sun. I am absolutely determined to do lots of posts this summer, so watch this space!
I know its been a while since my last post, but school work has had me completely over occupied! Not to mention the struggle of my first job and overcoming a nasty manager. Anyway, amongst all of this, I have still had time to watch my favourite trashy TV shows: TOWIE and Made in Chelsea. While watching the drama unfold, I was also watching Phoebe Lettice Thompson's and Lucy Mecklenburghs hair. Although everyone always told me how lovely my long hair was (nearly waist length) , I decided to bite the bullet and cut it off! I know have shoulder length hair and its safe to say that I absolutely love it! Below are some pictures of Phoebe and Lucy's hair, mineis now a mixture of theirs. What do you think?
Hey everyone! I hate getting home from a holiday, for the first few days its all 'home sweet home', but then you begin to miss the sun and sea. I find myself sitting in school, wishing I was back in Barbados on the beach! Especially now that mock exams have started and with them a whole lot of stress. On Friday I had four hours worth of exams, its safe to say that when I got home I was completely exhausted! Here are some holiday photos, I hope you like them!
Hey everyone! Yesterday I went on a little excursion to Westfields with my friends, it was the first time any of us had been to London on our own, but we survived! Even after a stressful few seconds when we thought we were going to miss the train and had to sprint down the platform. I think it's a right of passage that whenever you go to Westfields you see someone famous. We bumped into a cheeky bit of Jack and Finn (you tube vloggers) and have since received many a jealous comment from people we have told. I'm feeling really fed up of Britain's seriously bi-polar weather. The snow today made me feel like listening to Christmas songs and watching Love Actually! A recent love of mine is 1950's style high waisted bikinis, I got one from Topshop for my birthday, i think it's so cute! I'm off on holiday tomorrow, so can't wait to wear it on the beach. What do you think?
Hi all! Last weekend, I went on a little trip to London, where was I headed? The dusty, musty, vintage shops of Brick Lane- favourtie of Harry Styles and other celebrities as well as budding fashionista's. Although I do most of my shopping in highstreet shops: my absolute favourite is TopShop, once in a while I like to break free from this generic idea of 'fashion'. I love knowing that I will never see anyone else wearing what I've bought, which makes it completely unique to me. I think thats more what fashion should be about: rather than everyone looking the same. There is something so fulfilling about finding a quirky top or jumper for under a third of the price you would pay in highstreet shops. Lots of people wouldn't even look at the clothes because they hate the fact that they look old, but that doesn't bother me at all. Its not only the shops that I love though: Brick Lane itself is so diverse, the clash of cultures is overwhelming. Not to mention the food stalls are so yummy! On this excursion, I bought some vintage Levi Jeans and a netted American football top. (expect photo's of these in a post soon). Do you like 'thrift shops'?
Hey guys! If you read my last post you'll probably know that I recently got my cartilage pierced. To be honest, it was definitely an impulse action, its my first piercing, I haven't even got my lobes done. I wanted my tragus done, but I chickened out after finding out it was the most painful piercing. I will admit, I was sooo nervous and needed my sister to hold my hand, but it wasn't too painful. My inspiration was this vogue article:

It made me realise that piercings can be elegant as well as edgy. After eight weeks I'll be able to change the plain one I'm wearing, to one more interesting.I also love nose piercings, i think they're so different. What do you think of piercings?

Hey everyone! I am so ashamed of my complete lack of posts! But two exams, a controlled assessment, three essays, a cartilage piercing, a gym membership, a Christmas and a lot of snow later, I'm back in the bloggingsphere! I'm not sure if you remember my velvet shorts post, but I decided to re-wear them to my friends birthday party, but with the army top this time. I hope you like it! I promise you will be seeing a lot more posts from me, my heaps of opinions still stand.
Hi guys! I'm so sorry for the recent lack of activity on my blog, I am determined to do more posts! So last night, me and my fellow Twihard friend went to see Breaking dawn part 2. What did I think? That the film producer is obviously wanted to watch all the twilight fans squirm because it is so bad. If you've seen it you'll know exactly what I mean. I think there was actually a point in the middle of the film that I wanted to leave. What was with all their strange appearances? I'm not joking when I say, that I think as all the films have gone on Robert Pattinson has been edited to look more like Voldemort and less like the heart throb that he's supposed to be. Nine years after Stephanie Meyers initial dream that sparked Twilight, four books, five films, many tears, many laughs and many comparisons of boyfriends to Edward Cullen later, it's all over. All I can say is that it's definitely the end of an era.
Hey everyone! I just wanted to tell you all about a book that I read in the summer. I've been meaning to post about it for ages, but remembering things is not my strong point! Anyway, after I read The Hunger Games, I started looking around for more futuristic kind of books. During my scout, a friend recommended a book called Divergent to me (by Veronica Roth). I'm not going to lie, I was pretty sceptical. Mainly because I hadn't heard of it before and I had never heard of Veronica Roth. To this day, I still struggle to find Divergent in book stores and libraries. But I decided to give it a go, and ordered Divergent and the following book Insurgent, from Amazon. I don't want to give too much of the story away, but I will give you a rough outline of the plot. Beatrice Prior lives in Chicago, which is divided into five factions, which all value different things. (for example bravery and selflessness). When she becomes sixteen she has the chance to choose which faction she wants to spend the rest of her life in.

I read one page and from that moment on, I was hooked. Literally. I read both books in a week and completely loved them. This sounds so cliche but, I laughed and cried. To be honest, if you thought there was a lot going on in The Hunger Games, your wrong. The majority of the books is Katniss moaning, in these books you are turning ten pages a minute. All I can say is, read them! I guarantee you will love them.

Hey everyone! It's half term for me at the moment, which is so good. I think everyone needed a break. It was Halloween yesterday! Yay! Usually I'm not really big on the whole Halloween thing. But, not going to lie, I never say no to a chance to dress up! This year I decided to go as a cat, which I will admit is the same as the last two years. Me and my friends went trick or treating. Ironically i only started doing this, when I was probably too old. But then again, are we ever really too old, to knock on peoples doors and ask for sweets? What are you doing for Halloween?

In May last year, I started parliamentary debating. I know it sounds ridiculously boring and snooty but it's actually not too different from normal debating. It was me and a few others in my year, we didn't have much experience, but did a few competitions against local schools. Midway through June, we got invited to a competition hosted by and at Eton College, yes the really posh Eton college that Prince William and Harry went to: not to mention Spencer Matthews from Made in Chelsea. We went along, just for the experience, not expecting to win or anything. We didn't win, the other debaters were a lot more experienced - from a range of schools and a range of ages. Although that competition didn't go too well, we carried on debating at school, hoping to improve. Then came a really exciting opportunity: Eton had invited all the schools that participated in the debating competition to train with their team, once a week for a year. We jumped at this chance, and lets just say that under the watchful eye of the coach we are definitely improving:even if it is slightly intimidating being in a room with older, more intelligent and more confident Etonians. I can honestly say that I'm probably in the room with the future Priminister, which is a pretty good feeling. Eton is actually a little bit like Hogwarts, I have a sneaky suspicion that they have a great hall. Anyway, have a look at this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FtZkVRkusQ, I think it's hilarious, tell me what you think.
Hi all! So, today me and my friends went out for a meal, to celebrate one of my friends turning fifteen- yay for being able to get into 15's at the cinema, without being given death stares by the staff, who know your not fifteen because they saw you the previous week buying a child's ticket. Anyway, there are some velvet shorts from Topshop, which I am literally in love with and I decided to wear them with tights and creepers. I bought two tops to go with them, one an army print top and the other a cropped burgundy top. I don't often do outfit posts, so I thought I would go for it today! What do you think?
Hey everyone! Firstly, I think I owe an apology for my lack of posts recently, school work is getting on top of me slightly. But I'm coping and all the work has slowed down now- teachers still love to spring surprise homework on us though. But anyway, yesterday I went on a little excursion to London to get my first pair of pointe shoes. I've been doing ballet for nearly three years, and although I'm not particularly good and in quite a low grade, I really enjoy it. When I heard that for the next grade I would be going on pointe, I was so excited. My teacher, gave us all a whole list of dance shops in Covent Garden to go to, because apparently the local dance shop, isn't good enough. In the end, I only needed to go to two of the shops, because I found the perfect pair in the second shop I went to. The person who was fitting the shoes, also told me I needed loads of other things, so that the shoes don't ruin my feet- which I was worried about a little bit. My teacher also told us, that we needed to sleep in our pointe shoes to soften them up, lets just say that sleeping with your feet in what feels like a solid concrete sock, Isn't fun. I cannot wait, to get started on actually doing some pointe work in class, although I've been told that it's really painful. Below are the photo's of my shoes and all the other bits and pieces we had to get with them.
I love shopping -or more specifically love clothes- so as you can imagine, I have gone on many shopping trips in my time. You know how annoying it is when you go shopping because you desperately need something (like a top to go with your new wetlook leggings), but you cant find anything? Well I've noticed that the only time you literally cannot find anything, is when you're desperate. For example, when we went shopping for a dress for my sisters party and couldn't find anything, but the party was just a week away. Or when I really needed an outfit for a school competition but we didn't spot a thing. What is the reverse of this? When you're going shopping 'just to have a look' and you end up coming home with practically the whole petite section of Topshop (that has happened many a time), including things that you really don't need. Whats your opinion on my theory? While I'm on the subject of clothes... I was on a certain online shopping website (Topshop, as usual) and saw that the coat section is full to the brim with boyfriend style coats. I'm pretty sure this will be the 'in' thing for the winter. Unfortunately, I doubt they will do much to compliment my 5'2 and 1/2 frame. Another coat that I've just become familiar with is the 'coatigan' which is a coat/cardigan, which- if I'm brutally honest- I am not too fond of.
Hey everyone! This weekend was an important (which is code for extremely stressful) one for me: it was my assessed Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition. I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about but for those who don't, basically,me and the team had to follow a route on a map -without getting lost- and camp overnight (as well as cooking and pitching tents), then we had to wake up, pretty early I may add and do the walking bit again but, luckily, we didn't have to camp for a second night. As you can see from the picture above, it's not exactly a fashion parade, but all about big rucksacks and comfy shoes. Me and my friends had put so much effort into all the preparation we had to do (planning the route and writing route cards) but we actually thought we might fail, due to the fact that we got six miles lost on our practise. Everything went perfectly on our assessed though and we passed, but only after a few tears and tantrums (all on my part). Let's just say, I had a very bad case of 'cabin fever'. Add a heavy rucksack, a supposedly missing food bag and the fact that I don't really get on with the you most of the time anyway, and you will find yourself having to deal with me and the fact that I can sometimes be a bit of a bitch. Lesson learnt though: saying something bitchy will lead to consequences. For me this was stepping in a patch of stinging nettles in flip flops because I didn't have a torch, followed by having to sit in a tent on my own, before finally plucking up the courage to go to the campfire and apologise for just generally being grouchy. Did I mention, that I also got bitten by some sort of insect and I have two lumps on my back, which have gone down now, but had originally swelled up because of the rubbing from my rucksack and sweat. I now have loads of aching muscles and can confirm I am not looking forward to school tomorrow. Although after this weekend I can safely say that, all this so called 'character building' is not for me.
Hey guys! So toady I've decided to share my opinion on a pretty controversial topic. No not war or poverty or global warming. Okay, so I lied, it's not controversial at all, it's Justin Beiber. Now I know, about 75% of people groan when ever his name is mentioned, about 15% instantly start giggling, 10% start spurting facts about him,but then there is that 5% who genuinely don't care. I'm going to be honest, I pretty much lie in the 5% bracket. I don't mind if some people want to love him and some want to hate him. I don't care enough to rant either way. But, I've seen in a recent interview that Justin Beiber now wants to be considered an adult and is annoyed at being called 'a teen age hearthrob'. That literally made me do a double take. Does he seriously think that he will appeal to an older audience? I mean, to be brutally honest, he isn't really that talented, he's just quite a good singer and quite good looking, that's the only reason he's got where he has. Personally I think he's lucky to have the opportunities he's had, considering that there are people out there that are a lot more talented. If I was one of Justin Beibers adoring teenage fans, I would be pretty annoyed at what he said. What do you think?
Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't done a new post for a while, but I'm still getting back into the swing of things. So, school is good, after a few glitches with my timetable, I'm beginning to settle down. It's weird really, but it already feels like I've been back at school for ages: I suppose I could even say that it seems like I haven't had a holiday at all. I can already tell that this year will be a lot more work, they certainly weren't shy about giving us homework on our first two day's back. And every teacher seems to get a thrill out of telling us how hard the GCSE course's are and how the new mark scheme is making it even harder. Seriously, If I have to sit through one more lecture about controlled assessments, coursework and exams I think I'll just walk out. The main difference that I've noticed, is that the teachers are obsessed with folders. Last year, we had exercise books for every subject, but not this year. Its all 'get a ring binder folder for your work' or 'get a plastic wallet for your work' or even 'get a plastic wallet and a ring binder for your work'. Anyway, school is definitely wearing me out, and now that I have no Big Brother to watch, I'm getting a lot of early nights. Speaking of Big Brother, I was so pleased that Julian won, he absolutely deserved it! How are all of you?
