barbados!

Hey everyone! I hate getting home from a holiday, for the first few days its all 'home sweet home', but then you begin to miss the sun and sea. I find myself sitting in school, wishing I was back in Barbados on the beach! Especially now that mock exams have started and with them a whole lot of stress. On Friday I had four hours worth of exams, its safe to say that when I got home I was completely exhausted! Here are some holiday photos, I hope you like them!

Summer hurry up!

Hey everyone! Yesterday I went on a little excursion to Westfields with my friends, it was the first time any of us had been to London on our own, but we survived! Even after a stressful few seconds when we thought we were going to miss the train and had to sprint down the platform. I think it's a right of passage that whenever you go to Westfields you see someone famous. We bumped into a cheeky bit of Jack and Finn (you tube vloggers) and have since received many a jealous comment from people we have told.  I'm feeling really fed up of Britain's seriously bi-polar weather. The snow today made me feel like listening to Christmas songs and watching Love Actually! A recent love of mine is 1950's style high waisted bikinis, I got one from Topshop for my birthday, i think it's so cute! I'm off on holiday tomorrow, so can't wait to wear it on the beach. What do you think?

'I'ma take your grandpa's style'

Hi all! Last weekend, I went on a little trip to London, where was I headed? The dusty, musty, vintage shops of Brick Lane- favourtie of Harry Styles and other celebrities as well as budding fashionista's. Although I do most of my shopping in highstreet shops: my absolute favourite is TopShop, once in a while I like to break free from this generic idea of 'fashion'. I love knowing that I will never see anyone else wearing what I've bought, which makes it completely unique to me. I think thats more what fashion should be about: rather than everyone looking the same. There is something so fulfilling about finding a quirky top or jumper for under a third of the price you would pay in highstreet shops. Lots of people wouldn't even look at the clothes because they hate the fact that they look old, but that doesn't bother me at all. Its not only the shops that I love though: Brick Lane itself is so diverse, the clash of cultures is overwhelming. Not to mention the food stalls are so yummy! On this excursion, I bought some vintage Levi Jeans and a netted American football top. (expect photo's of these in a post soon). Do you like 'thrift shops'?

Piercings

Hey guys! If you read my last post you'll probably know that I recently got my cartilage pierced. To be honest, it was definitely an impulse action, its my first piercing, I haven't even got my lobes done. I wanted my tragus done, but I chickened out after finding out it was the most painful piercing. I will admit, I was sooo nervous and needed my sister to hold my hand, but it wasn't too painful. My inspiration was this vogue article:

It made me realise that piercings can be elegant as well as edgy. After eight weeks I'll be able to change the plain one I'm wearing, to one more interesting.I also love nose piercings, i think they're so different.  What do you think of piercings?

winter...

Hey everyone! I am so ashamed of my complete lack of posts! But two exams, a controlled assessment, three essays, a cartilage piercing, a gym membership, a Christmas and a lot of snow later, I'm back in the bloggingsphere! I'm not sure if you remember my velvet shorts post, but I decided to re-wear them to my friends birthday party, but with the army top this time. I hope you like it! I promise you will be seeing a lot more posts from me, my heaps of opinions still stand.

The end of an era...

Hi guys! I'm so sorry for the recent lack of activity on my blog, I am determined to do more posts! So last night, me and my fellow Twihard friend went to see Breaking dawn part 2. What did I think? That the film producer is obviously wanted to watch all the twilight fans squirm because it is so bad. If you've seen it you'll know exactly what I mean. I think there was actually a point in the middle of the film that I wanted to leave. What was with all their strange appearances? I'm not joking when I say, that I think as all the films have gone on Robert Pattinson has been edited to look more like Voldemort and less like the heart throb that he's supposed to be. Nine years after Stephanie Meyers initial dream that sparked Twilight, four books, five films, many tears, many laughs and many comparisons of boyfriends to Edward Cullen later, it's all over. All I can say is that it's definitely the end of an era.

Read it!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to tell you all about a book that I read in the summer. I've been meaning to post about it for ages, but remembering things is not my strong point! Anyway, after I read The Hunger Games, I started looking around for more futuristic kind of books. During my scout, a friend recommended a book called Divergent to me (by Veronica Roth). I'm not going to lie, I was pretty sceptical. Mainly because I hadn't heard of it before and I had never heard of Veronica Roth. To this day, I still struggle to find Divergent in book stores and libraries. But I decided to give it a go, and ordered Divergent and the following book Insurgent, from Amazon. I don't want to give too much of the story away, but I will give you a rough outline of the plot. Beatrice Prior lives in Chicago, which is divided into five factions, which all value different things. (for example bravery and selflessness). When she becomes sixteen she has the chance to choose which faction she wants to spend the rest of her life in.

I read one page and from that moment on, I was hooked. Literally. I read both books in a week and completely loved them. This sounds so cliche but, I laughed and cried. To be honest, if you thought there was a lot going on in The Hunger Games, your wrong. The majority of the books is Katniss moaning, in these books you are turning ten pages a minute. All I can say is, read them! I guarantee you will love them.
